TOORAK MEDICAL CENTRE is dedicated to providing high quality, timely general practice services, for patients of the inner eastern Melbourne area of Toorak and surrounds.
At the Toorak Medical Centre, all GPs are vocationally registered. This is equivalent to a specialist qualification in General Practice. Over a three year cycle, each GP undertakes a program of continuing professional development.
The Toorak Medical Centre again achieved the prestigious Australian General Practice Accreditation Limited accreditation award in 2008. AGPAL is a independent Medical Quality Assurance organisation which assessed the Toorak Medical Centre against standards set by the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. These standards are designed to protect the patient, and include:
- Practice Services
- Rights and Needs of Patients
- Quality Assurance and Education
- Practice Administration
- Physical Factors
These are only a small example of the extensive criteria a practice must meet to achieve accreditation. The RACGP involves a wide range of people, including consumers, when it sets the standards.
The doctors of the Toorak Medical Centre are pleasant and their experience and knowledge are exemplary. They show a commitment to their patients by their timely attention to the immediate issues and their meticulous dedication to patient-care over the longer term.
The consultation with your doctor is an important event, and
it is is helpful to be prepared in advance, when possible. If your
condition is urgent, please state that first, and you will be given highest
priority. Less urgent matters will need negotiation and allocation of the most
timely appointment possible. Follow this link for a more detailed discussion of
our appointment
system.
